Guidelines

Team Behavior

The very nature of a select team dictates the need for a serious, disciplined, and conscientious effort by all players. We must never forget that our teammates are constantly striving to improve themselves and their contribution to the team. Poor personal behavior or inadequate level of effort can never be allowed to adversely affect our teammates who are "giving it their all." In simple terms we must constantly attempt to motivate, encourage, and assist our teammates in their efforts each and every day.

The following will not be tolerated:

1. Rude, disparaging, berating, teasing or any form of negative behavior toward another player, coach, or parent.

2. Behavior, which excludes any individual or group.

Game & Practice Attire & Equipment

It is the responsibility of all players to favorably represent their club by being presentably attired at the games. Players are required to bring to each game and practice the following items:
1. UNIFORMS (Games): As required, Beechmont Eagle players are to have their uniform shirts tucked in and team socks pulled up. The referee has been instructed to enforce this code. Goalkeepers will wear a color to distinguish themselves from the field players. They need not wear a numbered jersey. They may wear long pants, gloves, pads, rubber helmet, or soft billed cap. Baseball caps are not permitted.
2. UNIFORMS (Practice): Beechmont Eagle players are required to wear shirts, socks, and shorts (or long pants) during practice.
3. BALL (Game/Practice): Size #4 - intermediate size, appropriate for U-9 through U-12.
4. SHIN GUARDS (Game/Practice): An absolute requirement for games. Should also be worn for all practices. The pull-on "legging" type with foam padding protecting the front of the leg from ankle to shin is an excellent shin guard. Those with plastic inserts offer additional protection, especially for the older player. Consider wash ability when selecting a shin guard.
5. SOCCER SHOES (Game/Practice): Recommended, but not absolutely required by most clubs. Baseball or football type shoes with square or rectangular cleats are not legal for soccer. Soccer cleats for most recreational play must be rubber or molded plastic (no metal cleats), and no less than 3/8 inch in diameter. Check your club's regulations, then check your players' shoes for illegal cleats, protruding nails, or sharp edges, and rectify any problems before a referee discovers a violation and one of your players is forced to sit out a game.
6. WATER BOTTLE (Game/Practice) (with player's name on it): Fresh water should be available to your players at each practice and game. It is easier for the coach if each player provides his or her own water bottle.

NO JEWELRY PLEASE

Just a reminder: girls cannot wear any jewelry or anything that could possibly cause injury to your daughter or to another player. This includes:

• Rings
• Earrings
• Necklaces
• Watches
• Bracelets
• Hair Clips
• Barrettes
• Beads in Hair
• To pull back hair, use elastic tie backs
